Paloma pendant
An open gold hexagon holds the emerald.
OXUS Fine jewelry by Maryam Najvan
One-of-one jewelry. An artist designs it with you, in the Los Angeles Jewelry District.
Nothing here comes from a catalog. Every piece starts with a conversation and a drawing.
01 The artist
Maryam Najvan wraps gold wire around carved white stone. She folds paper into shapes, paints ink in one stroke, and photographs the shadows of her own hands. OXUS jewelry comes from the same hands.

Sculpture first. Then gold.
02 From sculpture to jewelry
Her best-known style is folded shapes in gold. Each piece started as art she made by hand, in wire, paper or ribbon. Put them side by side, and you see how one leads to the other.

An open gold hexagon holds the emerald.

Gold folded into a star around each stone.

A heart with flat sides, like folded paper.

Five amethyst petals around a diamond. Small gold triangles on the chain.

Bands of gold that wrap the stone.

03 One ring, start to finish
A custom wedding ring in white metal: a pear-shaped diamond solitaire with eternity bands of emerald-cut diamonds. Maryam designed every part in CAD, down to the gem map. Then she directed expert casters and setters in the Jewelry District, and checked every step herself.

The setting and the bands, made from her model, before any stones.

Emerald-cut diamonds all the way around. The pear setting is still empty.

The pear diamond, before it is set.

The diamond set high above its two bands.
vi In the hand
One of one. Designed and checked by the same artist.
04 Range
Gold leaf shaped by hand, with turquoise. Aventurine stones on wire. A spiked bangle. And from the same designer, precise high jewelry with diamonds.

05 The studio
Every piece starts as a drawing on her desk. Maryam studied graphic and industrial design. She builds each piece herself in CAD. She makes the technical drawings, the stone details and the gem map. Then she directs expert casters and setters in the Jewelry District. She checks every sample and every finished piece.

06 Traditions
Families in Los Angeles give gold for the big moments in life. Tell us about your tradition. We design the piece around what it means to you.
A name, in its own language
Is your tradition not here? Tell us about it.
07 Inherited stones
A stone your family brought from Tehran, Beirut, Yerevan or Mumbai. Maryam looks at it with you and draws a new setting for it. We make it into a new piece for the next generation. The stone keeps its story.
08 The name
Oxus is the old name of the Amu Darya, a great river in Central Asia. Around 1877 to 1880, people found about 180 pieces of gold and silver near the river. They are Persian, from the Achaemenid Empire, made about 2,400 years ago.
Today the Oxus Treasure is at the British Museum. It is some of the finest ancient gold work in the world. Maryam was born in Isfahan and works in Los Angeles. OXUS takes its name from this river.
